How do I send my own short music files to my cell phone for free?

Q. Its an alactel 606 chat and has no internet and is not an android or a smart phone. Please can someone tell me what to do and direct me to some helpful web pages.

A. Most modern phones use one or two of a couple of methods for data connection.

If your phone has a wired port (it maybe hidden under a cover at the side) then it may accept a USB connection to a PC -the cable is usually peculiar to the phone at the phone end and USB at the other for the PC.
Sometimes you need manufacturer software to send and receive files,in other cases, files will cut and paste to the phone.

The other method is using BLUETOOTH - though as you say this maybe missing if you are not using a smart/android phone - though both systems are on my LG KP170 which is not THAT sophisticated.

Compatible files are usually .mp3 and .mid - the former for audio samples (ie music or speech)and the latter for music synthesizer files (ie phone tones).

The URL below suggests the 606 has Bluetooth and USB connections and uses MP3 for ringtones as opposed to .mid.

Bluetooth may need to be switched ON in the TOOLS section of your phone and you will need a bluetooth adaptor for the PC.

USB only requires the cable that connects to the phone and maybe software.

Why can't you buy a Verizon cell phone without paying for internet service?
Q. My sister just got a Blackberry and with it came a buy one get one free deal. I can get whatever phone I want for free but Verizon makes you pay an internet fee. Is internet service mandatory now on Verizon phones?

A. All cell carriers require a data plan on CONTRACTED, SUBSIDIZED smart phones. AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile they all do it. It has nothing to do with them being "whores."

When you get a contract and a discounted phone, they are selling you a $500 phone for 4150, and in this case, give you a free one. Verizon would be out of business if they didn't get something back for that. So, they require the data plan. Over the course of the two years, they recoup the cost of the phone they sold/gave you.

This is only required on so-called "smart" phones: Blackberry, Androids, any phone with Internet access as a primary feature.

how do people hook to the Internet with Tablets?
Q. I was thinking of getting a tablet for my bedroom. I find that I am more prone to reading the web when I am reading it on my smart phone in my bedroom at night. I am less prone to read when I am sitting at my desk. The cell phone is hard to see because it is so small. What type of connection do Tablet users use to connect to the Internet?

A. there are 2 ways to do it

1) Easiest way + it's free.But only works while you're home.

Every tablet comes with a Wi-Fi card so you can connect to your home wireless internet,if you have a router connected to your modem of course.

2) This method will let you have internet WHEREVER you go.

Buy a tablet that has a 3G or SIM card inside so you can directly connect to let's say AT&T or Verizon's network and browse web pages. This will cost you about $25-$40 a month but it does not require any tech knowledge. You can connect to web as soon as you receive your tablet, out of the box

3) Works only with Android tablets, not iPad and it's FREE but requires little bit of tech knowledge.

There is this free technology called "tethering". Basically what it does is it uses your cell phone's internet to let you browse the internet on your tablet ! You will have to install a free tethering app on your tablet AND smartphone and your tablet will be able to connect to web through your cell phone.
As you notices,in this case you have to have an Android smartphone with at least 1GB or 2GB monthly internet cap.

Good luck.
