Is it ok if I get a refurbished htc inspire from AT&T ?

Q.

A. Be careful of refurbished phones. They have a 90 day (3 month) warrenty instead of a 1 warrenty at at&t. While refurbished doesnt necessarily mean anything is wrong with the phone now, any small problems you have with it after three months wont be covered and you will have to pay full price (usually $200 more than new contract price) for another phone. I would suggest waiting until you can afford the phone you want or getting a less expensive phone.

I purchased a refurbished motorola android phone from at&t and it broke about 2 weeks after the 90 day warrenty expired! Now im stuck with an iphone original (5 years old!) that i had to trade my bicycle for until my upgrade is eligable at the end of the year! Another option is to find an inexpensive at&t smartphone on ebay. You wont get any warrenty with that, but sometimes you can find great deals on older model smartphones (like less than $100) to hold you over until you can afford your new phone. Just make sure they dont trick you into signing a new contract or renewing an existing contract if you change to a phone you bought elsewhere. You arent required to do that and they can be sneaky about it!

Can the HTC Inspire be a phone and iPod?
Q. ok well im 13 and deciding between 2 phones; iPhone 3GS and HTC Inspire. I'm tired of carrying my phone and iPod touch around. I want a 2 in 1 phone. I know the iPhone can do that , but my questions are;
1. Can the inspire take the place as an iPod and phone?
2. What kind of apps/app store does it have? ( are there apps like doodle jump etc.)
3. Are apps free or paid?
4. What phone do u recommend?
PS: price isn't a concern

A. If your more familiar with Ipods, and Apple products, the Iphone is for you.

1. The HTC Inspire can be used as an MP3 player as well as a phone. You can get a Micro SD memory card for the Inspire. The internal memory is expandable up to 32GB.

2. Android Market, over 150,000 apps, and growing everyday.

3. 60% of the apps on Android Market are free

4. I recommend the HTC Inspire if you want something other than an Apple product. The HTC Inspir 4G, does have HPSA+ (4G) capabilites, in certain areas because AT&T hasn't launched 4G everywhere yet. It is definitly faster than the Iphone 3GS. But like you said, price isn't an issue. The HTC Inspire has a max of $399.99 resale value (brand new, in the box). If your due for an upgrade, you can get it for $99.99, or Iphone 3GS (8GB) for $49.99 if your due for an upgrade. The HTC Inspire 4G is a high-end (top of the line) smartphone. But, the only problem with the HTC Inspire is that It's a bit bulky (heavy), weighing in at 5.78 ounces (with battery). And the battery cover is EXTREMELY hard to get off, like no joke. And you don't really experience 4G speeds because it's not out yet.

which phone should i buy?
Q. basically my contract is up in a few months and im starting to look at new phones, the iphone seems quite expensive but i might still go for it im not sure, blackberrys and htc im looking at too.. but can anyone give me any advice on which phone to go for (im after a smartphone) or a website which actually compares them well without having to read loads of reviews for them not to actually compare them...

thanks

A. If you're looking into HTC and Android phones, you should take a look at the HTC Inspire 4G

It's for free at Bestbuy right now. It runs Android 2.2 Sense UI, has a big touch screen (4.3 inches) which is great for texting and multimedia, has a ton of apps to choose from, lots of memory for multitasking, and is an all around solid phone. The cons for this phone would be the lack of a front facing camera (no video chat, or personal mirror), and the battery cover is hard to open.

But I would look towards Motorola more if you're on AT&T. The Motorola Atrix is an AMAZING smartphone. Dual-core processor, beautiful qHD 4 inch display (smaller than the HTC Inspire, and trust me, it's a noticeable difference), and HDMI out (so you can plug it into your TV). The specs on this phone are just amazing.

Edit: I just re-read the first line of your question. It might be expensive because it will be relatively new, but keep an eye out for the Samsung Galaxy S2 phone. It will have top of the line specs including a 4.5in Super AMOLED plus screen (best screen in the smartphone world), dual core processor, lots of ram, and will just be an all around Android King.

Also if you're not on AT&T (I forgot that Verizon carries the iPhone too), then definitely the Droid Bionic which will be coming out within a week (which means it'll probably have a discount in a few months). It will be the best droid phone for a while with specs similar to the Samsung Galaxy S2 (Verizon will not be getting their own version of the Samsung Galaxy S2, so the Droid Bionic is the way to go).

Also. Don't go for Blackberries. Unless your a business person who needs to shoot out 100's of emails a day, try to avoid it. They lack so many futures that current smartphones have and should have. It just doesn't validate having an expensive data package. And their specs are low-mid quality meaning it will lag a lot. The biggest pro is that they have one of the best keyboards in the industry, but that's hardly worth how much you pay for your phone bill.
