Q. I have an android and downloaded the full version of angry birds a few months ago. I wanted to download it from the app store for my grandpa on his new iphone and was shocked that the full version cost 99 cents! Why is it free for an android phone but not an iphone?

A. Ads. The difference is that the advertisers pay for the app on the "free" version. It means they don't make money on you, they get their money from the advertiser who pops up while you are playing the game. The Iphone version or the "paid" version on android, doesn't have pop-ups because you have paid for the application.

The advertisers want you to see their product so they are willing to pay for it in hopes you buy their product or visit their website.
