Q. Is there any way to create surround(5.1) effect in music players other than the stock android player just by tweaking the settings in the equalizer???
I am using PlayerPro and PowerAmp music players. They don't have 5.1 effect present in the stock android player

What (real life) space machinery was used in star wars?
Q. I'm doing a paper and I need to know how space exploration influenced movies around the Apollo era. What technological advances (such as the satellites that appear in the movies) were used in Star Wars?
A. I would use 2001 Space odd. for more realistic comparisons. If we stuck to the pace we were at we would be a lot more like that movie now. Minus the TMA object on the moon and around Jupiter. They showed how to make a useable space station for work and as a stepping platform for moon shuttles and how to build proper moon bases. People keep talking about building open bases on the moon but it's not a good idea because of the radiation in space. All moon bases would have to be build under the moons soil or built to counter radiation and micro-meteorites constantly impacting it's surface.
Star war's was more a kids movie that threw physics to the wind. Who would want to build a walking android just to interpret when they would build them hand held. R2D2 is a Swiss Army Knife android that interfaced with everything. Maybe when we make quantum computing chips we might develop something close but I doubt we could put all the stuff they did in there. Or even want to.
Rockets and cutters and electric shocking devices seems a bit silly. It would have to weigh a ton to support all that junk.
They never got into very much real science in that show, it was more of a WW2 movie on steroids in every respect down to the way their ships acted in space. They should have got Arther C. Clarke or Larry Niven to help them with it to make it a real Science Fiction movie. What was their fuel scores and how did they punch a X-wing into hyperspace? How could they do that with something the size of the Death Star? That would be the same as moving a planet through hyperspace. Why build a planet killing Laser on it when they could just fold space around the planet and chop it up to dust... It just never really was a well thought out movie. Just another hollywood who cares how it works movie, just show it.
I didn't see any power source in use that could do that kind of physics. Even trying to imagine it is impossible. It was more a fantasy movie than SF. The only real part would be the lasers and magnetic fields for launching and docking those small ships from the larger ones.
Star Trek has the most influence of all current developments. Hand held communicators and medical devices. Transporters may be worked out one day, who knows? They used something like this in Tron also.
And also has a theoretical basis for moving ships faster than light. I wonder if they knew this when they first came up with warp drive ships for the show? The first pilot show mentioned hyperspeed though. It wasn't until the series started that they started to say warp drive ships. Oh well......
