What is a good android phone for Verizon?

Q. My dad's retirement party is coming up and since he had to give his droid x up, he's been using my old iPhone. He likes android a lot better and I'm really not familiar with them, so what's a good android phone on Verizon?

A. Representing a new breed of easy-to-use, intuitive smartphones designed for both work and personal use, the Motorola DROID PRO for Verizon Wireless provides business-ready solutions with enhanced features for a richer personal mobile experience. You'll get full-push corporate e-mail with corporate level security, a unified calendar with additional work features, and the DROID PRO comes pre-loaded QuickOffice Mobile Suite. And the phone is packed full of spectacular specs--a powerful 3.1-inch multi-touch display, 1 GHz processor, 4 GB of memory (2 GB internal, 2 GB included microSD card), and a physical QWERTY keyboard.

Is there an app for Android phones that will let me open, edit, and save Microsoft Word documents?
Q. That are saved on my Google Drive? I love being able to access them, but the apps I've tried only open them in read-only mode or I get an error when trying to save an edited document. I've already tried QuickOffice, OfficeSuite, and Documents To Go.

Thanks in advance.

Can anyone tell me how to move a simple Quickoffice text doc from my Droid X to my lap top?
Q. I just can't seem to find a good explanation of how to do this online. I have Dropbox on my laptop and my Android phone both. Is it somehow done using Dropbox?
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Or, if there is another program for the Droid X like Documents to Go that does this easier, I would also consider that.

A. Let's see I know I've done this just recently... I think if you put your droid in Pc mode you can get into the sd card and search for the quick office file there
