What is a Good Futuristic Sci-Fi Book series to read?
Q. So i read all 3 hunger games books and i want a good sci-fi book to read that has similar attributes. Most importantly i love the ones that are about future types of government. Any ideas?
Oh i prefer it to be a realistic science fiction... in other words, nothing about Aliens and more about mankind personal struggle in the future.

A. In SCIENCE FICTION, here are some I (Fittings Doc) would recommend:

"Foundation" (1951 / 255 pages) by Issac Asimov

"The Caves of Steel" (1954 / 224 pages) by Issac Asimov
(the first of the "Robot" series / Lije Bailey mysteries)
These books are the source from which the movie "I, Robot" is drawn.

"Warriors Apprentice" (1986 / 312 pages) by Lois McMaster Bujold
(the first book of "The Vorkosigan Saga")
After being genetically "damaged" by a bio weapon in his mother's womb, Miles Vorkosigan overcomes prejudice to claim his birthright.
(FOUR other books in the series Won Hugo Awards.)

"On Basilisk Stationâ (1993 / 448 pages) by David Weber

Resnick holds the record for Hugo Award nominations with 34.
The Widowmaker, the consummate bounty hunter--has been frozen for a century in order to defeat a deadly disease. Only now the cost of his care has risen, so the Widowmaker is called out of retirement for one special commission, and a very large chunk of cash. A notorious assassin has been wrecking havoc on the Frontier; who better but the Widowmaker to defeat him?

âOut of the Ashesâ (1983 / 480 pages) by William W. Johnstone
(first book of âThe Ashesâ post apocalyptic series)
America has been brought to its knees by nuclear apocalypse. Gangs, looters and vandals have seized the streets, while decent citizens have united and are praying for a leader who can protect them. Luckily, one of the survivors is mercenary and tireless patriot, Ben Raines, a man sworn to survive.

In HUMOROUS SCIENCE FICTION, here are some I (Fittings Doc) would recommend:

"A Stainless Steel Rat is Born" (1985) by Harry Harrison
(first book of "The Stainless Steel Rat" series)
The adventures of "Slippery Jim" DiGriz, an interstellar conman and thief.
