My Phone has a grey satellite dish with 3 green rays at the top. What does that mean?

Q. I have a G1 android and I keep getting that little icon on and off. I would kinda like to know. Thanks

A. That is the Locator, or GPS on your phone, that tracks your location. All android phones have this service and most applications use it. You can disable it if you go to your setting and disable the locations setting, but doing so my cause some applications not to work properly. Also re3ad the user manual that will help.

Is there a service or website that does Contact and Calendar syncing between two or more cloud services?
Q. I am an Android, Windows, Mac, IOS, and Linux user. Yes really! There doesn't seem to be one good contact, calendar cloud service that fits all of my needs. I am looking for a way to just sync all changes, additions, deletions from mainly contacts and calendars. I use Google services, iCloud, Microsoft, and a couple others, but I am really looking for something that supports syncing via open protocols such as CardDav and CalDav, so I can really use any service per device I'd like that supports those protocols. I need something that is automatic and on the web, but if you know of something that is manual, that may work as well.

Once all data is synced, I will be able to switch devices and use the appropriate desktop apps, such as iCal, Outlook, Contacts, etc... to view and modify the data as needed. Maybe I should just simplify my life and choose one cloud service, and learn to live with the incompatibilities. For instance google calendars like to error out when I make changes via iCal. Also my google android devices, don't really like the iCloud calendars, and have a hard time just staying in sync. An option for latest changes overwrites anything else, is my preference.

Thanks in advance for any enlightenment you can share, to get 'my stuff' shared between these different islands in the big sea of cloud services.

Oh yeah, Google Sync is dead. Google Sync End of Life: http://support.google.com/a/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=2716936

A. I have not seen one since Google Sync died. Looks like you could develop one and make billions.
