Is it possible to uninstall an Android software update after you update?

Q. I have an HTC Inspire 4G, and I was wondering, if I don't like the update to Android Gingerbread from Android Froyo (2.2), if I could possibly go back to my original Android software (2.2). Also, does Android save all the contacts, even if they are stored on the phone, to my google account?

A. You should be able to go in to recovery mode and restore the backed up ROM that was on the phone before the update. Just read your manual on how to boot into the recovery mode or find your phone's forum posts on XDA or CyanogenMod and see how it's done.

Is ther a way to recover the operating system on an android tablet?
Q. When I turn the tablet on, the little green android just stares at me. I wouldn't care, but there are 957 books on the tablet.

A. Sounds like a corrupted Android bootloader.
If possible, mount the tablet via cable as a mass storage device to recover your e-books.
If the unit supports SD cards, your e-books may be located there.
Depending on the model, there may be a way to factory-reset the device with a button combination. Refer to the manual for the instructions.

A. It is best to try your support site or your owners manual for help, this site has owners manuals and service manuals, that will answer most question.
