What android GPS app would be good to use for Geocaching?

Q. I have just joined the Geocaching website. I have a samsung captivate android 2.2 firmware version. I need to know of applications that have a gps that allows you to type in the coordinates numbers, that allow you to play the game. Any suggestions on an easy use app?
Thanks in Advance.

A. First of all, when you say "the Geocaching website" I'm going to assume you mean Geocaching.com...

The official Geocaching app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.groundspeak.geocaching seems to be the best one out there, but it costs $10.

I use "c:geo - opensource" https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=cgeo.geocaching and it works reasonably well, but sometimes the caches don't show up in the exact right spot on the map... but when that happens at least it shows you that the location may be off (circles it in orange). And there's also a workaround for the issue, so it's not that big of a deal. Bottom line: this app will be fine if you want to save money, but if you don't mind the $10, the official app is better.

The OpenCaching app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.garmin.android.apps.opencache looks pretty good, but it's only for OpenCaching.com

What type of apps and games will the Kindle Fire have?
Q. I was planning on buying a Kindle Fire when it comes out and I was wondering what sort of games and apps will it have. Will it have as many goods apps like on the iPad 2?

A. Hi, Brayden, Kindle App store currently has about 16K apps (no Netflix, of course) while iPad's iTunes App store has about 500K apps - you do the math. Kindle Fire does not allow apps from Android Market place thus you're only stuck with apps allowed by Amazon. Amazon says it will review every app in its Appstore for Fire compatibility, as part of an automated process. Rejected apps will include those that rely on a gyroscope, camera, WAN module, Bluetooth, microphone, GPS, or micro SD. Apps are also forbidden from using Google's Mobile Services (and in-app billing), which, if included, will have to be "gracefully" removed. In terms of actual content, Amazon has outlawed all apps that change the tablet's UI in any way (including theme- or wallpaper-based tools), as well as any that demand root access. Amazon confirmed that you cannot download/stream anything to Kindle Fire when traveling outside US

What is the best android cell phone battery enhancer?
Q. I have a nexus s 4G from Sprint. Its an android. I wanna know how to prolong the battery life. The best battery life enhancer.

A. I am a sales rep for a wireless company. This will be kind of long, but this is exactly what you need to do, and it will work...

Okay first check some things out first. In your location and security settings do you have any My Location check marked? This is the number one battery drainer. When you have this turned on, your cell phone is always putting out signal for gps, or wireless towers to show location. Unless you are using gps or searching for a nearby store, this is pretty much useless and wastes battery. Next I would use an app called Advanced Task killer. This app will close apps that you accidentally left open. When you download it go to settings (by pressing menu button) and having it auto kill ever 30 or so minutes. Now you need to make sure what you have check marked on advanced task killer, because it will kill all apps that are checked. MAKE SURE THE PROGRAM ITSELF IS NOT CHECKED! You want to go ahead and check everything for right now and press kill. Now all those selected apps will be removed, BUT WAIT. Don't leave the application yet. Wait about 4-5 minutes and go in and out of the app from home screen back to the application at least once. You will see that you have some apps that popped back up. Un-Check all of those apps! These are apps that will reboot themselves in order for the phone to function properly, and by killing them you're just causing a battery draining loop.

This alone will double your battery life. I do this for my customers every day and they always say it works.
