How do you get billed for apps on a WiFi android tablet?

Q. I was thinking about getting an Android tablet, like a Honeycomb or Android 2.1, but if I don't get 3G service, I have no idea how you would get billed for apps. With a nook or an iPad, you just can use gift cards, but I have never seen an Android gift card. Do you get a bill in the mail, or online? I'm just confused.

A. You get billed the same way you get billed on any Android device, Google Market. Whenever you first open the market, you have to set up a Google Market account which becomes linked with your GMail account so that you don't have to pay for the same apps if you have to wipe or get a different device. Google Market uses your credit or debit cards to pay for things.

How Do Buy Things On The PlayStore Or Android Market?
Q. Hi guys. Im planning on getting a Nexus 7. And Like, how do you buy things on the Android Market Or Play Store or what ever its called? Do you need to make something similar to an Apple ID? And exactly how would u pay for things? Ive never really seen Android Gift cards or anything. O.o Someone please help im super confused about android stuff, this will be my first time owning an Android Device

A. in order to purchase anything from the Play Store, you need to associate your Google account with a credit card through Google Wallet. you then can purchase anything you want.

you can NOT have it charge to your phone bill. as Google doesn't know who or what your wireless service is.

if you want a gift card, you will need to go to a store and purchase a prepaid visa or similar card, and use that.

I accidentally bought more stuff than I can afford on my gift card?
Q. I had bought 2 cheap albums on the android appstore for kindle by using a gift card.
I accidentally bought another album, when clicking to preview it, which costs more than the overall amount remaining on the gift card, yet it accepted the purchase from the gift card.
What will happen now? Did I really not have enough, or would it have not accepted it if I did not have adequate funds, seeing as it was from a prepaid card?

A. At the time of purchase, the system only verified that the card was valid, not how much was available on the card. Sometimes a purchase is approved then hours later you get an email the purchase could not be completed. If you have a credit card on file, anything not covered by the gift card will be charged to the credit card, if you only have a gift card that's out of funds, then the entire purchase may be declined.

This is the same reason why gas stations put a preauthorized hold on debit card funds, because they don't know how many gallons you will put in your car and they don't want to risk your card being declined after you pump your gas. Here it's not such a big deal and if the payment is declined before the items are shipped, they simply don't send your shipment.
