What is the difference between epad, apad or iped?
Q. I was looking on ebay & those came up as knock-offs for the ipad. Which one would be better out of the 3? Thought I might get one for now. Are they like a laptop run off your router? Or do you have to have a special service?

A. All epad, apad, iped, or whatever pad are just some nicknames given to these chinese generic android tablets.

Generally, all 3 terms represent different form factor and hardware specification of these tablets:-

Apad usually refers to the Rockchip RK2808 powered device a.k.a Moonse E-7001 which is a 7 inches tablet running Android 1.5. It as a 600 Mhz Processor with a 550Mhz DSP therefore it can render 720p Video. However there are devices that uses a similar form factor equipped with Telechip TCC8902 chipset which support Android 2.1 and 1080p Video playback.

iPed is an 8 inches device Powered by VIA MW8505 originally produced by Eken (M003). Although it support Android 1.6, it has the least powered CPU and is the 7" Eken M002 is the cheapest android tablet on the market at this moment.

The ePad is usually referred to the Zenithink ZT-180 which is an 10" android 2.1 device. This firmware of this device is still a little buggy and updates are being issued almost every week. Although it has a 10" display, it is priced as the 7" Telechip devices.

All these devices has Wi-Fi therefore you may connect to your router as your laptop does. The Rockchip Apad does support external USB 3G modem so provide even more portability.

Out of these 3, I would definitely recommend you to go for the Apad, either the Rockchip, or Telechip version as both has the most stable hardware and software combination.

What kind of pen tablet should I buy for my PC?
Q. I've never used one before and know nothing about them, really, or the differences between types and brands. However, I don't want to buy a cheap and inefficient one simply because I lack experience, I'd rather buy or more complex one and learn with it.

I'd like one that isn't that much more than about 100$ and intend to use it for basically art alone- using photoshop and paint programs to create graphics.

Which tablets should I look into buying?

A. Tablet comes with 256MB RAM , It has a processor speed of 1GHz, one USB port, an HDMI plug, SD card slot, and built-in memory of 2GB. micro sd card up to 32GB
