Q. I don't have a data plan. First, is it possible to download an app to your computer and transfer it to your Android phone via a USB cable? Secondly if I have wi-fi in my house, can my phone use the internet by connecting to my own wi-fi? If I did this would I be charged with data? (I have t-mobile if it matters)
A. Lets start by answering your first question. Yes, it is possible to download apps onto your computer and then have them transferred over to your smartphone (Android) via USB cable. Lets get one thing clear first, unless you are installing a third party app that isn't directly from the app market. Then yes, you would need to go with the USB. If you are planning on getting apps directly from the Android market, then you don't need your USB. Secondly, you can and may use your phone to access the internet via wi-fi anytime you want...where ever you may be. Lastly, the most important question that you have is "will I be charged for data even if I planned on using wi-fi?" The answer is yes!
