Is it possible to install Linux on Laptop Toshiba Cloud Companion AC100-10D?

Q. I want to get one but there's this Android whatever as an operating system and I really want Ubuntu on it.

A. I wouldn't buy one unless you are a keen hacker. Ubuntu will run on it, but not flawlessly, and it takes some know-how to get it on there. It has an arm (not x86) processor so won't run windows. Android was designed for touchscreen, not a mouse and keyboard, so (from what i've read) isn't a great experience on a laptop.

What file do i need to download so that i can run android on a 32 bit pc from a bootable flash drive?

Is it possible to install an Android OS on an old PC running windows 98?
Q. I thought it would be kinda cool to see this on an old PC. Not completely serious about this, it's just a thought.

A. Android is usually run on ARM processors, so it's not really tested on x86 processors like the ones made by Intel and AMD. There is a project to port Android to Intel processors, but it's not quite the same thing. You won't get the Android Market because it's not the Google-branded version of the OS.

Android itself is just a custom layer on top of the Linux kernel. There are lightweight Linux distributions you can install that are designed to run on older hardware. You may have more luck getting one of those working.
